Question:Salam. I work as a software developer for a company and I have no control over what I have to develop. I'm developing a mobile application that allows users to record the score of a gameboard. This gameboard includes characters like roman and greek gods. I did not participate in the creation of the game, but in order to allow the user to record his score, I need to make reference of this mythological gods and goddess in my application. I know shirk is the greatest sin, I would like yo know if the income for my job is haram because my software includes references to elements of shirk (mythological gods and pagan temples). Thank you in advance for your help.

Ayatollah:Fadhlallah

Answer: Walaikumussalam brother
May Allah accept your aamal and ibadaat in this holy month
May Allah grant greatest place to Sayyed Fadlallah in Jannah
You are doing his taqleed he is not alive and I have not seen his ruling for the specific situation which you mentioned
As per the ruling of current maraje like Aayatullah seestani
Any act which causes to help or propagate the falsehood it is haram.
As you mentioned if you feel that in anyway it leads to assist or propagate the baatil or assistance to shirk then refrain from it.

Question:I’ve performed an istikhara to see if I should recite Ziyarat Ashura for 40 days to ask Allah to grant me a wish. I’ve performed it around 3 or 4 times (some time passed between each of them) and the result was not good for all of them.

1) I would like to know if my istikharas were valid in those cases, and if I can repeat it after some time with the same intention (reciting Ziyarat Ashura for granting a need)?

2) If the istikharas in fact were valid, is it wrong if I act against them and recite Ziyarat Ashura for my need to be granted?

Ayatollah:Fadhlallah

Answer: It is not right to do Istekhara for ibadaat and ziyaraat
It is a recommended act one can do for wishes but at the same time just in the love of Imam Husain as
I suggest you to recite ziyarate ashura just qurbatan ilallah in love of Imam Husain as which is greatest goodness inshallah Allah will fulfil your hajaat .
Now one more thing there are stages for anything first use your intellect Think and decide , if it is hard to understand then seek advice and suggestion from experts and wise people if still unsure then finally go for Istekhara .
Please if you did Istekhara for one thing and it was not good kindly do not repeat for same cause with same intention.
Question:What's the difference between istihadha and Haydh?

During the last days of my period the discharge becomes very little and the color becomed lighter every day. It goes from dark brown to light brown/dark yellow. All of it occurs within the 10 days period.

I would like to know if it's considered istihadha or haydh? I'm not sure because the discharge becomes very little and light in color.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Menstrual discharge (Hayz) is a kind of blood which is normally discharged every month from the womb of women for a few days. When menses is discharged the woman is called 'Haaez'.

Menses is usually thick and warm and its colour is either black or red. It is discharged with a pressure and a little irritation.

The blood seen by women after the age of 60 years is not classified as Hayz. And as per recommended precaution, women who are not from the clan of Quraish, if they see blood between the age of 50 and 60 years, having the same signs as those of Hayz, they should combine the 'dos' of mustahaza and 'don'ts' of Haaez.

Blood seen by a girl who has not yet completed 9 years of her age will not be classified as Hayz.

Istihaza is usually yellowish and cold and is emitted without gush or irritation and is also not thick. It is, however, possible that at times the colour of the blood may be red or dark, and it may also be warm and thick and may be issued with gush and irritation.

There are three kinds of istihaza viz. slight (Qalila), medium (Mutawaassita) and excessive (Kathira). Explanation is given below:
Little blood (Qalila): If the blood remains on the surface of the wool or pad etc., (placed by a woman on her private part) but does not penetrate into it, the istihaza is called qalila.Medium blood (Mutawassita): If the blood penetrates into the cotton (or pad etc.), even partially, but does not soak the cloth tied on the outer side, the istihaza is called mutawassita.Excessive blood (Kathira): If the blood penetrates through the cotton, soaking it and the cloth (etc.) around it, the istihaza is called kathira.
As you described it is with in 10 days if it has the qualities of The Haez then it is consider as Haez and you have to follow the ruling of the woman who is in the state of haez.and if thus period is match to your periods then it is Haez and in last days of the Haez generally discharge is becoming little only see the qualities of same as Haez then Haez otherwise it is istehaza.
