I asked Imam Ali a.s. if he could ask Allah swt to grant me a wife whom I would meet at his shrine during my trip. Unfortunately I did not meet anyone during that trip, and I am still unmarried until today. What could be the reason that my dua was not accepted? I thought the Imams always accept duas?

Question:We have been recently informed at our masjid that Ayatollah Sistani has changed his ruling on Khums for those with debts. The change being - if a person is in debt for a necessity (such as a home loan), that person does not have to pay khums on any savings that is below the total debt amount. Only once your savings exceeds the debt amount, only that excess is liable to khums.

I live with my family and we have a mortgage. The mortgage is not legally in my name, but I contribute to the mortgage from my salary fortnightly. Does this mean I also consider this mortgage (debt) as my debt and I am not to pay khums on any saving below the debt amount? Or is the mortgage not considered my debt because it is not legally under my name?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Yes indeed the new ruling is correct. However, it does not apply to you in this situation since you not legally binding on you. The responsibility is on the legal owner of the house
Question:Is it permissible to hold another program in the masjid (eg Quran Khwani or Dua recitation) when it may disturb people who may come in to the masjid to pray their Namaaz?

Answer: There is nothing wrong so long as the Qurkhani is held after the main salat times. One should try to quite place to offer his prayers if possible
Question:My question is can I donate my organs after I die because I was thinking it might help someone else life. Please I need the answer even for the followers of Sayeedina Agha Sistani may Allah swt bless him long and healthy life. For this one I am asking on behalf of my children.

Ayatollah:Khoei

Answer: According to the late Ayatullah al-Khu’i, donating some of the organs (whether minor or major) after the death is permissible provided you have expressed your intention clearly in your will.

Ayatullah Nasir Makarim also holds the same opinion.

Ayatullah Khamenei allows this provided the body does not look like a mutilated body — so donating internal organs would be permissible but cutting off the external organs would amount to mutilation of the corpse which is not permissible.

However, Ayatullahs Sistani and Jawad Tabrizi do not recognize the validity of such a will at all; and, therefore, donating an organ after death is not permissible in their views
