I am looking into beginning hawza studies next year in either Najaf or Qom but I am not sure which city I should go to, both are great so it makes the choice hard.

In your opinion which city would be best and why?

If you could also list pros and cons of both that would be much appreciated

Najaf is a more traditional based hawza, focusing on Fiqh and Usool E Fiqh, whereas Qum has more modern subjects like philosophy, theology, irfan etc.

There are more resources in Qum as well as better facilities if you are with your family, whereas Najaf is still a difficult place to live in due to issues with electricity, water and security issues.
