Couple of years ago, I was accompanying my mother in her hospital room and I found a power bank there. Not caring, I took it since during our stay of a couple of days, no one came to ask for it.

I don’t remember very well now and I’m also not sure if I knew the ruling at that time or not but in a recent discussion I realised that I should have made an effort to find it’s owner.

I did feel burdened for taking the power bank at that time therefore after some time I stopped using it and since then it’s there in the store room.

What should I do now? What is the best course of action?

If you can’t find the owner, give sadaqa for its value (current value as what you would get if you sell it now) and you can continue to use it
