I am aware it is makrooh to work on the day of Ashura but is it okay to run business where the staff are non Muslim and the work can happen without your presence. eg. Restaurant / Hotel etc or do we need to shut the same as well

It is best to close and not work at all. But if you are compelled then there is no problem in it.
