I am following grand ayatollah Wahid al khorasani and I wanted to know what he says about celebrating Christmas

Is it forbidden for Muslims to celebrate Christmas in a way that has nothing to do with the Christian religion. I mean is it allowed to buy presents, decorate our homes and eat good food for the sake of the kids.

It is not recommended, but not haram. However, if it effects the kids, and makes them believe in things which are against Islam, like Santa clause, and similar beliefs, and that this is a holy day, then it is becomes haram.
