I have a few questions regarding the status of Syeds.
1- is it true that Syeds get more rewards for doing good deeds as compared to non-syeds?
2- My mother is a Syeda but unfortunately since my father is not, I have lost the title of a Syed. However, I’m technically still related to the Prophet’s family through my mother but I just don’t hold the title Syed because of my father. Is it still haram to say I’m related to the Prophet but as a non-syed related to him?
1. It is not true, the reward for good is based on faith and sincerity 2. It is not haram per se, but you cannot consider yourself a sayyid from a jurisprudential perspective
