If building muscles results in loosing your religion and gaining sins, then what is the use of these muscles, which are going to be ate by the grave.
I used to go to the gym, but stopped because seeing women there had a negative effect on my faith. Now I exercise at home instead with the intention to maintain health because I feel it helps my iman, but now I receive negative comments about how scrawny I look. I want to exercise to get big muscles instead so I can feel good about how I look. My question is, is this a halaal intention in Islam? Is it ok for me to exercise with this intention or should I just forget about exercising to build muscles and look good? What do you suggest in my situation?
There is no problem in exercising to become healthier, but be wary of building muscles or doing it to show others, as this is frowned upon in Islamic teachings.
Allah loves stronger human beings. There is no problem is this is done for His sake. Strength should be physical as well as spiritual
