Towards the bottom, if I understood correctly, it says if the experts do not identify one scholar to be the alam and instead identify a group of scholars to be equally knowledgeable& pious (which seems to be the case these days), then they are allowed to follow whoever in the group they wish (and I understand they can follow different people in different areas). Have I understood correctly?

I’ve never heard of this before. If this is true, I really wonder why people are always battling each other over their choice of taqleed.

But how you judged that it is the case these days?
From my side, I see that S. Sistani is the more knowledgeable person.
