I work for a local organisation we will be handing out water bottles with the name of “Hussain” written in English during Muharram. We have already ordered the bottles but some volunteers are concerned about the public throwing them in the bin afterward. Does the principle of not being able to throw holy names in the bin apply to names written in English.

And if so, is it sufficient that volunteers advise the public to recycle the bottles instead of throwing them in the bin.

You must take every precaution that no disrespect comes to the name of any m’asoom. Thus, advising people to recycle would be appropriate and taking other efforts to make sure there is no disrespect. It would be good if the volunteers alert the recipients of the bottles that the name is sacred and that they should please recycle
