Me and my wife recently divorced. I cheated on her which is unfortunate and wrong. She’s told my friends that I’ve cheated and shown them whatever evidence. My friends have questioned me if it’s true and I’ve denied it. Reason being that I don’t think it’s right to reveal marital secrets regardless of who’s the victim and secondly it’s my personal secret.

Have I done the right thing by denying the truth when asked by my friends? I’m only answerable to Allah and not them.
