My cousin is 23 weeks pregnant. Today she had her anatomy scan. The baby has severe brain abnormalities and heart defects. The doctors don’t think the baby will survive and if she goes to full term the baby will pass after delivery due to the nature of the defects.

She was advised to terminate the pregnancy.

She is under the taqlid of ayatullah Sistani. Is this permissible?
