My friend is using the argument that Eid prayer is not compulsory but it's still prayed in jamaat, then Taraweeh can also be prayed in Jamaat

How should I counter this?

Eid prayer was offered by Prophet and we are following as Quran instructed us to follow him but taraweeh was not offered by Prophet.
