Proximity to a masjid may mandate that one offers prayers there instead of at his home. Does this rule apply to (REMOVED) Masjids as well? One is even less than a block away. While the Shia center is about a 25 min walk away.

The rule is for masjids with Shia imam of jamaat, however, it is recommended to join with the (REMOVED) in prayer especially if it would give a good impression of our faith. You would have to make your own niyyat and do all the recitations yourself in a low voice.

The narrations emphasise it for those who can see the masjid from their houses so I think you would be outside that criteria.
