The Sunnis have a belief of pre-destination of our spouses before we were born like some 50,000 years before we were born. Kind of like the concept of a soulmate who is only meant for us and we are meant for them.

What’s the Shia belief regarding this? Are our spouses based on personal choices or did Allah (swt) make us and our spouse for each other before we were born?

No we don’t have this belief generally speaking, although some may tend towards this, but it’s not a widespread accepted opt by our scholars
