There are some Caucasian Sufi rituals where they walk/run in circles while doing Dhikr Allah. (Not to be confused with Turkish Sufi rituals where they spin in circles). Would the first example be haram? I understand that the ritual of going in circles isn’t something explicitly sanctioned by the Prophet or Imams, but at the same time they are doing Dhikr Allah. I have a similar questions regarding some of the Latm rituals that some Shias practice. They fall under the category of Mourning Imam Hussein. Why can’t the Caucasian Sufi rituals fall under Dhikr Allah?
If it is done as a legislated act of worship it becomes Bida. If a person just wants to spin in circles and remember God it would be okay, if it is not a part of the faith.
