We currently reside in the UAE – a number of stores sell ‘halal’ meat that are imported mostly from Australia, New Zealand and Brazil.

Since the above nations do not have Muslims as a majority – would the ‘halal’ label on the meat imported from these countries suffice for its permissibility to consume?

For Brazil I can’t say but meet imported from Australia with the label of Halal are Halal it is certified by Muslim council which issues the certificate.
