What were some of the features of Yazids tyrannical regime?

No doubt he was a tyrant, but I cannot find sources in English that state exactly how he oppressed the people.

I have heard that he charged high taxes, and interest. Could you name some other things that happened before he ordered the brutal killing of Imam Al Hussayn
