Question:I really want to know the real traditions of Islam in relation to marriage. In my culture, we have the (jahez) which the girls family gives to their daughter when she gets married, secondly we have (haq of the mothers milk) which the groom gives to the brides mother as a gift or hadiya you can say and thirdly haq mehr where the groom gives something in a form of gift to his wife.
Can you please tell me if these 3 points are right according to islamic traditions.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: The only thing in Islam is the mahr (dowry), which is given by the groom to the bride to marry her, and not as a gift or hadiya.
He do not have to give any thing to her mother for the milk or her father for raising her up, and the family is not responsible to provide jehaz for the daughter. It is the husbands responsibility to prepare a furnished house for his wife, according to his ability.
Question:Let's say Ayatollah X has a certain opinion and Ayatollah Y has a different one. Given that I find Ayatollah Y's opinion better but I am in the taqlid of Ayatollah X, what do I do? Also, this only applies for a certain topic.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Stay on your taqleed.
The matter is not what you desire.
Question:This year has been a year of awakening for me. I've realised how wrong I was and how away from Deen I've been. I'm trying to correct myself as much as I could. I've learned that we should keep away from all the materialistic things that belong to the world. I no longer use phone for chatting with my non mahram friends. I however, have a hobby of photography. I post pictures on social media and I like when people like my posts. Should I stop doing it because it is also a worldly thing?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: No. You do not need to stop that, provided that you do not capture and post bad/ sexual pictures.
Question:1) I have been chatting and talking to non mahram all these years until I realised how big sin it is.
Therefore I have stopped chatting, talking, seeing non mahram now. However, my last connection was a young Atheist girl until reality came across me that I'm sinning by talking with non mahram. Now she actually converted to Islam not because of me but because she got influenced by The Quran and Prophet Muhammad (saww). The scenario now is that she has accepted Islam and is yet to tell this to her family and friends and everyone else and so far I'm the only person with whom she can talk to about Islam. We don't chat about anything else except Islam, it's teachings, duas and that too just 2-3 times a day, so my question now is that is it permissible for us to talk or we should not be in contact anymore?

2) Is it a sin on her part if she's planning or thinking about marriage with me? Or she should avoid such thoughts and leave the matter on Allah's will?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: 1) Talking to her about the mentioned subjects is permissible.

2) Planning or thinking of a good thing like marriage is okey, provided that she do not get into not permissible talks.
Question:Is it permissible to eat bone marrow of the halal animal?
