Question:I ve heard many different rulings on wearing rings. Although not from authentic sources but they make me wonder. Can you wear a ring on your index finger or is it haram? And can you wear it on your thumb or is it haram? And is it makrooh to wear it on your middle finger? (If haram and or makrooh, why so?)

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Everything that relates to rings and the position in which you wear them on your fingers. Apart from the last finger and the second last are makrooh.
Question:I understand that listening to music is haram. But is there an exception to it when it comes to working out and maintaining a healthy body through exercising. As listening to certain types of music brings in an adrenaline rush which also motivates and helps in working out.

Answer: If the music does not involve any haram luring or Enticing sexual lyrics, it’s fine
Question:I’ve heard that blowing on things (food/ drink) after reciting duas is Makrooh. Is this true? And is there any particular hadeeth that supports it?

Answer: There is such literature available but it’s not all authentic and a makrooh act is not a haram thing
Question:I am a father and my son's age is only 6 months. Right after becoming father I use to be concern on the matter of the liability of the parents. Because I must be liable to Allah on the day of judgment about the mistakes/sins of my child. I will be questioned did I properly guide my children in duniya? So what Islam says about this? Even if I teach my child all the basics of islam, akhlaq, etc. will I be liable of the sins/faults of my child?

Answer: Once you do all you can to provide him with the right education Akhlaq Islamic manners until they reach the age of accountability. After that you are not held liable for their actions.
Question:My younger sister started to wear hijab when she was 12/13. She continued it until her college life but after entering into University she left hijab and she does not listen to us anymore. She always avoids the issue whenever my parents try to preach her. Please tell me in which way should we influence her to wear hijab again?

Answer: Perhaps use peer role models to speak with her. Coming from you will not help.
Question:My sister already has IPhone 7S plus which I bought her two years ago. She has recently graduated and is asking for the latest version of IPhone for her graduation present. I am fearful that it would come under asraaf. Can you please advise.

Answer: If you can sell the first one and upgrade it’s fine.
Question:Can me and my wife offer prayers in jamaat where I lead the prayers and she follows?

Answer: Yes it’s allowed. All she needs to do is to stand behind you
Question:I am a student from india and I like to study. Everytime I wish to study different topics related to my field but as soon as i open a book or try to study then all of my interest fades away. Is there any way to boost my interest and have a consistent interest in studying?

Answer: Organise your time, select the most favourite topics in order of priority, don’t study when you are exhausted and start early in the day. Just before you do that read Quran everyday after fajr. It strengthens your memory
Question:When there is a majlis going on and it is coming close to the end but the adhaan comes for maghrib comes on is it better to wait for the majlis to finish and then pray or go to the prayers right away?

Answer: Go to prayer straight away
