Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: There is no such thing. Allah says in the Quran: no soul shall be burdened by the action of another.
Question:Giving lectures be it any language I think is a way of making understand and be aware what our religion actually is. Why is it then women are not allowed to give lectures where they have unisex audience. If she is in proper hijaab then why it's not permissible. According to era ways of life changes. If a man can have unisex audience then why not women?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: She can give lectures based on the above scenario
Question:Why Imams are only from Al hussien son?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: The divine appointments of the Imams are decided by Allah just like it is in the case of the prophets! There is no elections or shura that takes place among people to de use who a prophet will be at the behest of people. Therefore to ensure the continuity of the message the ones tut comes after the prophet must be as infallible as the prophet himself in order that no deviation takes place after the prophet. And due to the face that this particular methodology was not followed after the prophet we see the kind of absolute mess and chaos the Muslim ummah is facing from then till now.
Question:I also wanted to know what should be my reaction when someone from my family does back biting? I've tried to tell them they shouldn't do it but they say what they're doing is not back biting. I've heard that not only doing but listening to back biting is also sin. If I move away while they're back biting, they feel offended that I'm accusing them of something which they're not doing

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: In the absence of them heeding to your advise, you have a duty to either not listen or simply get up and move away.
Question:I often face the problem of nightfall. Yesterday night also I had it and I missed my tahajjud and Fajr prayer. I feel really guilty. What should I do? It makes me feel I'm away from Allah and I let Shaytan get over me.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Sleep early, read Quran before you sleep, make a sincere intention to wake up, have a very light meal and set your alarm more than once.
Question:With regards to the qunoot of the witr salat, sometimes I feel very robotic (and hence disconnected) when I do the recommendations of doing isteghfar 70 times, asking forgiveness for others 40 times, saying al afw 300 times .. etc
I feel if I just read some other Dua within the qunoot, my presence of heart in the salat would really improve. I know that to read some alternative Dua is allowed, but my question is what would be better from Allah’s (swt) point of view in this case?
Should I continue reading what is recommended, or read something in which I feel a better connection?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Read as if you are speaking to your closest friend without any formalities that’s when the heart is at its best in terms of sincerity
Question:I’m thinking of making a daily habit of trying to do good deeds and gift it to my loved ones who are deceased. It’s a long list of people, so I was wondering in your opinion, what act can I do on their behalf which will bring them the most joy?
Should I for example read a surah for each one (if so, which small surah is best)? Should I do some salawat for each one, or maybe just do a quick Dua for each one? Is there something else you can think of they would appreciate more?
I’m guessing ideally I should perform a Salat for each person, but I think this will be too time consuming because there’s so many people I want to gift.

Ayatollah:N/A

Answer: You can collectively do aamals for all of them with one intention to include them all, for e.g. you read Surah Fatiha and bequeath it to all of them.
Question:I heard a Hadith in a lecture the other day that the Prophet (saws) says “oof “ (i.e. is disappointed) in the one who doesn’t at the very least spent his WHOLE Friday in seeking knowledge.
Just wondering whether this Hadith is authentic because I though it is ok to work on Fridays as long as Friday prayer is not neglected.
As in, wouldn’t it be ok if instead of studying the whole of Friday, we study a little bit each day instead?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: You can do anything as long as it’s halal till the time of prayer and then resume whatever you were going once your Friday prayer is concluded. Thus Hadith is referring to engaging of any acts that distracts while you are listening to the two khutbas (sermons) of the actual Friday prayer as they are deemed as a substitute for the two Rakaat of Zuhur since we only pray two raakat for zuhur on Friday
Question:My son is 3.5 years old he is intelligent and learns and recites everything but does not sit back and answer in class. He just runs away please suggest some duas so that I can manage his tantrums. His screen time is minimum.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: He needs to see a professional paediatrician or perhaps a speech therapist along duas and not just duas alone. A good dua to read is Dua Mashlool.
