Question:In tarikh tabari they say that from Karbala to Sham the enemies of Allah pulled Sayyida Zaynab and the ladies hijab. Some say they only pulled their maqnah they had underneath a chador. While others say they pulled the entire hijaab so that her hair was showing. Do you know whether it’s the first or the latter which is the case.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: In my research, it was both but for different people. For some it was the outer hijab or face covering, whilst for others it was the hair covering. For eg, Sukayna daughter of Imam Hussain has her earrings snatched. This can only happen if the hijab was removed
Question:I'm a revert to Shia faith and my husband is a Sunni. However , my family and my husband don't know about my faith since it'll cause them to break ties with me. Now, I'm married to my husband for 4 months and he's being really toxic towards me. He doesn't respect me or care for me like a husband does and gets mad if I try to approach. We are at the moment in a long distance relationship and won't be meeting until 2021. I'm trying my best to cope with this situation. And I can't tell anything to my parents since he's my cousin and my parents will take his side. Could you advice me Sheikh on what strategies I should follow in order to help this relationship grow. I don't want my husband to leave me God forbid.

Ayatollah:Khamenei

Answer: It is important that you don’t dismiss these concerns at this stage.

Marriage is a journey, which has ups and downs, but you learn about each other

Suffering in silence is not way forward. Husband and wife need to develop communication skills, love, respect, appreciation and trust for each other. Sometimes books and courses need to be referred to. Your husband needs to understand his roles and duties going forward.

Long distance is not good and especially for a few years. The first few years of marriage are key and you should be together. It does not spell well for future if it’s a lengthy years away from each other.

Question:I remember weakly that you had shared a Facebook post regarding the number of turbah one can use. I think it was mentioned that one cannot use more than one turbah from the masjid at a time.

I’m unable to find that post. Can you kindly help me with the issue here and maybe point me to any reference book that has spoken about it?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Essentially if you don’t have permission you should use one turba in the mosque. The waqf on it is usually for Sajda not for support of sajda. Best to bring your own from home

This is in Sistani.org Arabic

Question:I had a question in regards to tamam and qasr prayer.

I have a house that I own in Atlanta, GA but I barely reside there as I had moved to Alabama for schooling and after schooling was over I moved to another town known as Augusta, GA. Now Augusta is my permenant residence hence my hometown. However I visit Atlanta every once in a while since my parents live there. That house in Atlanta is under my name. So when I go to Atlanta do I pray qasr Namaaz or tamam? Would that house in Atlanta be considered my second home? I only go to the other house once a month or once every two months. Is it still considered my home then?

Also, I was born in India so that is my birthplace.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Based on what you have mentioned, it is not considered your home, and you should pray qasr there
