Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: No it’s not necessary
Question:When people post something on social media platforms, such as whatsapp, facebook, can we take a sanpshot and share it? Or do we need to seek permission to do so? eg; someone posts whatsapp status or whatsapp display picture of a doa or quote, can we save and send it to people? Or can we ourselfves use it for our benefit since it's kind of public? Or do we need to ask permission every single time?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: If it’s a private group, and generally the people in that group do not want anything shared, then you should not share. It depends on the setting, some Facebook accounts are set as public so it’s ok to share etc. If people have placed setting as public then it’s ok to share. Otherwise we should ask permission as much as possible
Question:I wanted to know how can sadqah be given in the form of deeds and actions, can you please elaborate on this topic

Question:Will I have to pray namaz ayat if a solar and lunar eclipse cannot be seen in the area I live in?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Question:I’m finding it hard to understand the difference between Aqa’id and fiqh. I know we must do taqlid for fiqh but not for Aqa’id, but what does Aqa’id mean?

Ayatollah:N/A

Answer: It means beliefs. It’s the doctrines. It’s the theology.
Question:I’ve got a question in regards to the 12 Holy Imams. Are they divine? Or they are just Divinely Guided? Which is the difference between both? I’ve got a friend who is a Christian who says Jesus is Divine, what does Islam say about this?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: They are human beings chosen by God. They are not divine, as only God is the Divine. They are humans who have been selected by God to guide mankind
Question:A Christian claimed that the Prophet (S.A.W.) received his first revelation while he was sleeping, is this true? And if not, how do we Shias address this claim and provide evidence that this isn’t the case.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: We have strong evidence in Islamic traditions on how and when the Prophet received revelation. A person from another faith cannot tell us from their own sources. There is no Muslim scholar in history who has claimed the Prophet received revelation whilst asleep. All the biographies of the Prophet by Muslims established that he got it when he was in Cave of Harra fully awake
Question:I have got a question in regards to Surah 69:17, it states that “eight of them” shall hold the throne, in some Shi’a traditions some say it is the four prophets from the past that will hold it -Noah, Abraham,Moses and Jesus. And the later generations- Prophet Muhammed, Imam Ali and his sons Hasan and Hussain. However I’m not convinced enough or certain enough for this to be true as the Quran says it’s specifically directing towards the angels. So how can I truly understand this verse and what is correct interpretation of this verse?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Yes as you mentioned some narrations exist as such
In any case if it’s angels it doesn’t take away status of Ahlulbayt at all nor change anything. Sometimes we go by narrations as there is no other way to be sure
Question:Present scholars our great grand scholar ayatollah sistani said “In one of the recent meetings of Grand Ayatollah with a crowd of Popular Mobilization ‎Forces, one member said we have peaceful coexistence with our Sunni brothers. In reply, ‎Ayatollah al-Sistani underlined that do use the term Sunni brothers but say they are ourselves because ‎we are from the same origin and there is no difference between us and them.” Ayatollah Khamenei also preaches shia sunni unity, can you tell me what we should do? There is another issue of ayatollah Sadiq shirazi. I am really really confused can you tell me what to do and what is right?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Best way is to follow your current marjie and don’t worry about rest. The marjie knows challenges of modern era so it’s best to listen to him
Question:I don't remember quite yet but since the past 3 years I been committing a sin that is very bad. After 2 and a half year I find out that it was a great sin and haraam so I pushed myself and stopped doing it and started doing repentance. Now things have gotten dark I can't control myself as I could before. I am trying my best not to commit this sin but I am failing I have tried everything taken every advice but nothing is helping me I want to develop myself but I am failing. What should I do now, how should I control myself to not to commit this and because of this sin I have fallen bad into my studies. I also attented majalis of Aba Abdillah (a.s) and prayed to Allah to help me get rid of this sin but I think help is too far away. I haven't losen my hope in him as losing hope in Allah is a greater sin. The sin that I am committing is masturbation and watchin pornography.

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Firstly it’s very good that you feel you have wronged and you want to stop.

Allah is all merciful. He will forgive you. You must believe this. But this act is damaging you badly. It’s worse than poison. Your future will be very negatively affected because of it.

Please watch this clip I did. Also another clip on pornography. You need to do what is recommended. Practice it and reward yourself with halal if you don’t do the haram. You must busy yourself as boredom makes you think of haram. Ultimately maybe marry temporary or permanent to save yourself and your religion. But don’t give up as Shaitan wants you to give up
