Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: Yes
Question:Is it haram to get a nose job and botox?

Ayatollah:Fadlallah

Answer: Generally the maraje say that it is ok as long as there is no touch or look by the na mahrams. In regards to there being no touch or look by a non mahram during the nose job, it is that the non mahram should not see what is wajib on a woman to cover such as her hair etc. Hence the preliminaries to the action should not be haraam.

As for the act of injecting Botox itself has no problem but it's the preliminaries where the problem is whereby if a male doctor where to carry out the procedure and touch the body of a female. The other side which would have a problem is that Botox is a beautification treatment hence if any make up would be done, it would be visible hence covering it up infront of non mahram would be necessary. Otherwise in the act itself, there is no problem. Similarly no problem if a woman were to carry out the procedure.
Question:I would like to know how I must react if someone is threating and torturing me because he/she is hating muslims and wants to kill me because of it and is telling me that she/he wants to listen of me that I am not muslim and I am and then become free. What must I do in this situation? And if I dont tell them what they want to hear. Am I dying as a martyr?

Ayatollah:N/A

Answer: If one's life is in danger, saying they're not Muslim is no problem. You can also complain to the authorities. But for the safety of life you can say you're not Muslim (while you are)
Question:Can I still pray a Nafila prayer / recommended prayer like salat ul Layl and it will still be accepted by me, although I still have many prayers from the past years to make up for/repeat?

Ayatollah:N/A

Answer: You can recite salatul Layl but it is good to recite qadha namaz
Question:In regard to the night prayer:
1. Is it obligatory to say ‘al afwa’ 300 times, or is the person allowed to say it less.

2. If somebody accidentally misses it one night, is it obligatory on them to repeat it?

Ayatollah:N/A

Answer: Just a brief introduction: Namaz e Shab and all the nawafils are mustahab hence it permissible to recite only surah fatiha however it is better to also recite the second surah. Qunoot is mustahab as well. In salatul witr of namaz e Shab it is better to prolong the qunoot. It is good to recite 300 'al afw' however if you recite 10, there is no problem. It is good to remember 40 believers however even one is good. Namaz e Shab is mustahab and whenever you have the strength and the will to recite it, then lengthen it otherwise recite as much as you have the strength and will to do.

Question:I’ve been engaged for 2 years with a man, and today we had an argument over something very silly but about a religious matter. He then told me that I either have to follow his marja3/scholar(whom I love and respect) or we have to breakup. I found myself in the matter of choosing between my fiancé and my religion, so I chose to stay with my scholar, so he broke the engagement.

But now I’m in huge regret. I just want to know if I’ve done anything islamically haram by avoiding this situation and following his scholar for the sake of the engagement. Or I made the right choice choosing my scholar over this?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: You have the option to tell him that you will follow his marja however act according to your own marja. The issue however is that if someone is like this, meaning is intolerant to this extent on these kind of issues, from an akhlaqi perspective, he may have problems in other issues as well. It would be best for you to consult a counselor and if this marriage is in your best interest. If he is going to have a problem on these kind of issues, this marriage will not work and will not have good results. You need to think more about this.
Question:I have one big problem, When I pray, I always doubt if I passed gas or no. Sometimes it's doubts and sometimes its true. Or just I don’t know if its really gas or no.

What is the fiqh law for this kind of situation please? For example, if its an illness ?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: There is a 99% chance you're only having doubts and in reality there is no gas passing. When gas passes it either has sound or smell. Sometimes movement of the anal muscles makes one think that they have passed gas.

Let's assume you really do have no control over the passing of gas. As per Ayatullah Sistani, do wudhu when you have control and after that, if gas comes out when you have no control then it does not invalidate wudhu
Question:1)Black Khol in eyes and pen marks in skin , are obstacles for the water to enter our skin in wazou?

2) When we do the massa of feet, everything must be wet from the toes to the top of the ankles or it is not wajib to wet until the end of the feet?

Ayatollah:Sistani

Answer: 1) Kohl if it's on the inside of the eye, then it's no problem because the inside of the eye is not washed during wudhu. If it's on the outside, if it's just the colour remaining then it is not a barrier however if it has mass/substance, then it is a barrier for wudhoo and must be washed off. In regards to pen marks, if it is just the colour remaining on the skin, it is not a barrier to wudhu however if it has mass/substance then it should be washed off. Ascertaining whether it would be a barrier to wudhu, based on the above law, would be on yourself.

2) The whole feet does not need to get wet. Even if the width of wiping is equal to a matchstick, it would suffice. Length of wiping is toes to ankle.
